Senior Accountant Central Europe – Gothenburg Are you an experienced accounting professional looking to take on a key role in an international environment? We are looking for a Senior Accountant / Senior Accounting Manager with strong expertise in accounting, financial reporting, compliance, SOX, and Shared Service Center operations. 💼 About the Role You will play a central role in managing accounting and financial reporting operations across Central Europe, covering legal entities in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. Key responsibilities include:

Oversee accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, and inventory accounting.

Lead and collaborate with Shared Service Center (SSC) teams and SSC Team Leads.

Review and oversee month-end, half-year, and year-end closing processes.

Ensure implementation and compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Ensure SOX compliance and oversee controls performed by the SSC team.

Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, reports, and financial analyses.

Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, statutory requirements, tax regulations, and relevant legal requirements.

Collaborate with internal and external auditors and regulatory authorities.

Drive process improvements and identify opportunities to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Work closely with Group Accounting, Tax, Internal Control, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

🎯 Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

5–10 years of progressive accounting experience.

At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role.

Proven experience managing and collaborating across Shared Service Center accounting teams.

Deep knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, financial reporting, and compliance.

Experience working in a U.S.-listed company environment, with a strong understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and related regulatory requirements.

Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

Strong experience with accounting software and ERP systems.

Experience identifying process gaps and driving optimization initiatives.

Ability to work effectively in complex, matrixed organizations.

Fluent English, both written and spoken.

⭐ Nice to Have Master’s degree, MBA, and/or CPA certification.

Experience within the automotive industry or a related sector.

Experience with dealership management systems.

Knowledge of German, Italian, and/or French.

Experience working across European markets.
