Functional Safety Engineer

Are you passionate about functional safety and eager to contribute to the development of future hybrid and electrified vehicles? ALTEN Gothenburg is now looking for a Functional Safety Engineer to join our team and support the development of advanced propulsion and vehicle systems. About the Role Support the development and implementation of Functional Safety activities in accordance with ISO 26262 Collaborate with system architects, hardware engineers, software engineers, and suppliers to ensure compliance with Functional Safety requirements Participate in Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) activities Support the development of Functional Safety Concepts (FSC) and Technical Safety Concepts (TSC) Review and assess safety-related work products from suppliers Contribute to safety analyses, including FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), DFA (Design Failure Analysis), FTA (Fault Tree Analysis), and other safety assessment methods Support the development and verification of safety requirements Participate in technical reviews and safety audits Contribute to issue investigations and root cause analysis from a safety perspective Promote functional safety awareness throughout the organization

Your Profile Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field Experience in product development within automotive, embedded systems, or similar industries Strong interest in Functional Safety and system safety engineering Understanding of electrical, electronic, software, or system development processes Familiarity with automotive development processes and requirements Knowledge of Functional Safety according to ISO 26262 is considered an advantage Experience with safety analyses such as FMEA, HARA, or Fault Tree Analysis is beneficial Experience working with suppliers or external development partners is an advantage Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Fluent in English, both written and spoken
